About Us

The California Wild Rice Advisory Board is a non-profit organization of California Wild Rice growers formed in 1986 and operating under the authority of the Secretary of The State of California Department of Food & Agriculture.

The Board represents approximately 65 California growers. The acreage assessments, paid by California Wild Rice Growers, is used in activities including field research, nutritional research, as well as domestic and international promotion of Wild Rice. The board has its offices in Northern California's fertile Sacramento Valley.

Brett Scheidel is the President of The California Wild Rice Advisory Board and Fred Klose is the Manager.
